Barron Theatre
From sinner
A new space has arisen, phoenix like, from the ashes of the Crawford Arts Centre - The Barron Theatre!
Ok, so it looks quite similar to the Crawford Studio Theatre (for those of you old enough to remember) but it has a new purpose, new seats, and a new person running it.
The Barron Theatre is a studio theatre dedicated to student drama. Run by the University of St Andrews Students' Association and now the permanent home of Mermaids (the University theatre society) it also incorporates a workshop, props store, wardrobe department and an office.
The theatre is a black box studio and has raked seating for about 60 people. It has basic sound and lighting equipment and a versatile rig which can accommodate most stage setups. This makes it ideally suitable for experimental and imaginative theatre, as well as traditional endstage productions.
The theatre is available for rehearsals and performances. To make a booking or for any other enquiries please email barron@st-andrews... or you can speak to Julie, the theatre administrator in the Barron Office from 10-5 every weekday either in person or by phone - 01334 461701.
How to find it
The Barron is located on North Street between the library and the cinema, opposite the police station. The office is the white door in the courtyard on the left. Ring the doorbell and someone will come and talk to you!
