OK - so I spent a bit of time browsing around the message boards and was amazed at the levels of conversation around careers, jobs, what degree to aim for, yada yada yada.

The other thing that amazed me was that not many people seemed to be suggesting coming into the Careers Centre for a chat.

Please allow me to put the record straight:

1. You don't need to know what you want to do before you come and see us
2. We don't just cater for accountants, city bankers, and lawyers
3. Really, we don't
4. As cheesy as it sounds, our goal is your happiness; we want to help you move on to whatever it is you want to do next, be that a job, further study, or just taking time out
5. The earlier you start thinking about what you want to do next, the more likely it is that you can make it happen - small steps taken more often are much easier than trying to sort everything out in 2 weeks before you graduate
6. It's unlikely you'll come across anyone else, other than maybe your mum and dad, who'll work as hard with you to help you achieve

So you still don't believe us? We can't make you come in and see us, but we'd rather that you did. Put us to the test and see for yourselves if we match the above; if we don't then fine, at least we tried, but I'm certain that you'll find a visit to us worthwhile.
