Kind of a Scottish themed pub/bar, but not overtly so; it underwent a refurba couple of years ago and some people say that it has lost its old charm - and they may be right. The window seats as you walk in remain second only to those in the oak rooms/bridges/inn on north st/ogstons or whatever you want to call it; all too often you'll walk past, see a friend in there, pop in for a drink and emerge in the wee hours still clutching your lecture notes! Do some pretty awesome burgers, especially the haggis one, but the specials havnt changed in months and i'm not sure if they ever have! good range of booze, not wildly cheap but not too expensive either, and they have an excellent range of whiskies of you want to take your dad (academic or biological) somewhere for a wee dram. Combined with the west port, drouthey's is a popular first port of call for those older students who have walked up argyle street on up from the bad lands for a night out.
