Classical and Jazz

For classical music, the best place to head is the university's own Younger Hall on North Street. The Music Centre offers evening orchestral and choral concerts given by university, local and professional groups, including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Each Wednesday lunchtime the Centre puts on a recital from a professional musician, with admission at £2 (or free for Registered Music Users). Each Friday lunchtime the University Music Society hosts a lunchtime recital for university solists and chamber groups, with free admission. Details can be found on the website.
