Introduction

RockSoc is the university's rock music society, encompassing all genres under the great umbrella of rock, from cheesy 80s hair metal to prog rock and protopunk to deadly death metal of death. Or something like that. A typical RockSoc night will offer a good variety of music, so there's something for everyone! And if not either suggest a song to a DJ or obey the golden rule of RockSoc...drink until it sounds good!

Meetings

RockSoc puts on a club night in the Union's Venue 2, every other Thursday, from 8pm - 1am. The venue has a sizeable DJ rig, spacious seating areas, a dance area and a bar. Entry is £2 for members, £3 for non-members. On the off-weeks, activities such as pub crawls, quizzes and film nights may be held. Occasionally, gig trips, live band nights or other special events may also be held by Rocksoc, such as the infamous Rocksoc Halloween event in Venue 1. Check the Sinner calendar or the Rocksoc web site for details of upcoming events. Emails are also sent out to members about upcoming events.
