Students' Association
From sinner
The Students' Association is a charity dedicated to the social, recreational and academic wellbeing of the students of St Andrews, and is one of the main hubs of student activity in the town. It operates in three main spheres: representation, through the Students' Representative Council (SRC); student development & activities, through the Student Services Committee (SSC); and commercial services, such as the bar and catering. Every single student at the University automatically becomes a member of the Association upon matriculation.
Traceable back to the late 19th century, the Association, or 'the Union' as it is commonly known, moved to its present location in the well-known Union Building in the 1970s. The Association also operates the Old Union Coffee Bar and Barron Theatre on North Street, and the DRA Bar at David Russell Apartments.
