Welcome to the University of St Andrews Athletic Union (AU). With a committee elected by the student body the AU is run by students representing your sporting interests amongst the higher levels of the University as well as on a national level. Most important is, however, for you to have a great time enjoying your sport here at St Andrews, no matter what that may be.

To help you along the way, please have a look at our Athletic Union Handbook in which you will find information on and contact details for all the sports clubs. For a more hands on experience of what Sport at St Andrews looks like, come along to the ‘Give It A Go’ Sports Day on Wednesday 24th September. It’s going to be an action-packed day: Kick-off at 8 am going all the way through to 10.30pm at night during which you can have a go and everything from Rugby to Mountaineering or find out what Korfball or Ultimate Frisbee are all about without having to commit yourself to anything. We will be providing food and refreshments to ensure enough power and energy for the day!

On Saturday 27th September we’ll be hosting our annual Sports Fayre, again down at the Sports Centre. This is another chance to meet the clubs, find out more about them and even sign up for membership. Both the Athletic Union and the Department of Sports and Exercise will have a stand at the Fayre so you quiz us on university sport in the wider sense.

Have a great Freshers Week, try out all you want, you may well discover a unknown talent as well as making a lot of friends.
