Perhaps the "Graduate" tie is indicative of membership of General Council? (Which, of course, has the same meaning, but would signify belonging to the organisation rather than just(!) being a graduate).

If the BESS-dessin "Undergraduate Tie" is actually the Association tie, does that mean if I get Life Membership I can wear it after I graduate? And here I am wearing it 24/7 to try to get the value out of it.
