Re:

Manus, it probably could be linked to anti-id card activities as both Unionism and the anti-id card business are concerned with upholding freedom.

Looks like the Saint has committed speech, thought and word crime. Oh dear.

Why does everybody think they have a right not to be offended? Surely in a free country the right to be protected is that of being able to offend.

When I said 'acting on their morals' i meant those morals most closely associated with the medical profession, with the preservation of life chief among these. Re:

Perhaps it would be better to view the doctors as moral rather than religious. Many people in NI have what some mainland euro-moderno-fools call 'old-fashioned' views. Professionals acting on principle should be encouraged, and not just when that principle happens to coincide with new-left orthodoxy.

Re:

Not sure one can refer to such a senseless lump as a 'movement'. 'Movement' implies some sort of internal consistency and logic. Neither of which are to be found on the idealistc centre left (if that is where the Labour people locate themselves at the moment)

Re:

Regardless of anything to do with 'outlook' or 'culture', the majority people of NI want to retain the British link (be that being 'ruled by' the 'British' or being 'British') If we are considered odd or unworthy of wanting to retain this link then so be it. A Unionist club could cater for a valid p...

The people of Ireland have been proven to be ethnically indentical to those of the rest of the UK and much of North Western Europe. The notion of a Celtic nation is a myth.

Re:

The province of NI is ruled by the government of Great Britain (as are Scotland and Wales to a greater or lesser degree) to form the UK. We send MPs to Westminster and so on. The retention of the link with Britain and the notion that we are 'British' is a majority opinion. Why can't people accept th...

Re:

What sort of 'constitutional description' did you have in mind? The majority of people in NI want to remain British, simple as that. As an aside, the only time Ireland has been 'united' has been when she has been under British rule. By the way, don't read too much into the whole fake email thing, ac...
