Desk and some pans (free)

Not really looking to sell, just wondered if anyone could use these or can advise a good place apart from this to offload some stuff? If not it'll have to go to the recycling centre which seems a waste if they could be useful. I have an an old Argos desk, similar-ish to this one http://www.argos.co....

Re: Where have all the boxes gone?

You could try Morrisons - I'm sure that last time I was there, there were still banana boxes :D

Re: Matt Baker - Eat It!

Nope, came across this one in my search. But the one I'm thinking of was definitely on Blue Peter, with Matt Baker, probably several years before, and wasn't so much a spoof video, just a cover with lyric-changes.

Thanks anyway though!

Matt Baker - Eat It!

Hello, Does anyone remember a Blue Peter spoof (probably in the BP Pantomime one year) which included Matt Baker doing a cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" - but the words had been changed to Eat It? This came up in conversation, and I thought that I would be able to find some Youtube ev...

These streets

I know this comes up all the time, but really, why do people (yes, it is mainly students) in St Andrews insist on walking in front of cars, even if they have seen them coming? I was driving up North Street, I was the only car on the road. There were 3 girls about to cross, and they saw me coming. In...

Re: The cost of a scone

Very helpful replies, thank you! I think you can buy value scones at Morrisons at about 28p for 8, but even then it is probably cheaper and more satisfying to make my own. Also, I have to ask - FieryFairy, are you really big on scones and trying to save money, or are you trying to win a beer bet or ...

The cost of a scone

This is maybe a odd, but I am a bit bored and trying to work out if it is cheaper for me to buy scones (and then possibly muffins) from Tesco/Morrisons or to bake them. I suspect it is cheaper to buy them. In calculating this I need to know how much, roughly, it would cost to have my electric fan ov...

Re: Where can I get a haircut?

If you're female (or a man with a complicated hairstyle) you could try Dynamic Hair on South Street, that's where I usually go. I think they're quite reasonable, and most people I know go there, I think it's about £13 for a dry cut, £18 for a wet cut, about £25 for a cut and blow dry? Don't quote me...

Exercise on Uni fields

Hi, Not sure this is really an "Advice Please!" topic, but it is a question, so... My friend tells me that there is some sort of hard-core exercise going on at the University Playing fields Monday and Wednesday nights, does anyone know what it is? Sounds like it might be potentially intere...

South Street fire?

Does anyone know what was going on on South Street yesterday?

Saw huge clouds of smoke drifting past the window, 4 fire engines and an ambulance outside the Rule/Pagan Osborne about 4:30pm, and two engines still there at 7:30pm...

Re: Where to get a hamster?

I think Acorn pets on Bell Street sometimes has them - otherwise there's a pet store (can't remember what it's called) near Asda in Dundee, off the Kingsway.

Haven't ever seen anyone talking about hamsters on here before.

Re: A Year in Fife Park

Have just read your book, and it's like you were living the same FP experience as I did! Really struck a chord, even though you were there a couple of years before me - just shows nothing really changes there... Anyway, just wanted to say great job! Made me nostalgic for that year of paper-thin wall...

Re: Tattoos

Thanks for the replies - sounds like a bit of a mixed bag... I will keep thinking about the tattoo idea in general, I have always wanted a small one, but it is something I am going to have my whole life, so I might look into whether an artist in Edinburgh has better feedback for small, unique tattoo...

Tattoos

Has anyone had a tattoo done at Angels on South Street? I have been in a couple of times with friends, but not in a while. I've been thinking of having a small tattoo done; just wondering what anyone's experiences have been?

Thanks
