Re:

There was no guarding when I had appendicitis. It was only really confirmed when they took it out and it was only taken out as a sort of " we dont think you have it but we will take it out just to be on the safe side". But am shocked they didn't look down your throat when you presented with a sore t...

Re:

It doesn't work like that. In the surgery where I did my GP placement they had a number of emergency appointments set aside each day for patients and these appointments were at certain times e.g from 11am till 12am or in the afternoon. The majority of the doctors workload is seeing regular appointme...

Re:

For goodness sake. Doctors sometimes get the diagnosis wrong. Its part of life and doesnt always indicate incompitance. Two doctors missed my appendicitis. I dont feel angry about it- I wasnt presenting in a typical way that appendicitis presents. If you see a patient early on in their illness it mi...

Re:

95% of all throat infections are viral. Knowing this and coupled with the fact you are well enough to go to your tutorial I am not surprised you got hassle. Why don't you look into symptom relief instead? I have some sympathy with the receptionist. They have to decide allocation of emergency appoint...

Re:

Oh for goodness sake. My spelling was poor because not only had I been awake for 9.5 hours I had been working for most of them. So I forgot to check my post. If you can find anything in the rules about spelling being perfect in every post please feel free to post it. This is all I am going to post. ...

Re:

Oh well. I left the house at 7am for a clinic that started at 8am and have been working since them. So forgive me if my spelling isn't as pedantically perfect as St Andrews students who have probably got out of their beds at noon

punctuation

Hi. I am writing an essay on pharmaclology. Silly question really but should I put a capital letter in front of drugs names if not at the start of a sentance? For example "The patient was prescribed fenatanyl patches." Should fentanyl get a capital?

Re:

It was the most pathetic attempt at strangling someone I have ever seen on the TV. I mean it was all of 10s he was being chocked for.

I agree with Dugehh. Anyone who wanted to see war of the worlds or kill bill will have seen it by now. However people are still going to see Brokeback mountain.

Re:

Would any of the third year medics on this thread do me a favour? I am revising skin infections and remembered that there was a very good micro lecture on the topic. Would someone email me the notes?
Thanks (s0457149@sms.ed.ac.uk)

I used to walk to Morrisons from David Russell. Got lost in the estates ocassionally however it was a nice walk introoduced me to an area of St Andews I was previously unfamiliar with. Reason I did this was not due to bad serivce but due to the fact that I used to get sick of the same food from Tesc...

Re:

Good god the plane took about 20 minutes to crash. The look on Pauls face during Izzys phone call to Karl was priceless. And the long goodbyes with every family member hugging each other, David throwing the saftey card at the doomed Sereena, the choir singing in the bakground. The only thing missing...

Another clue today was Harold telling David he loves them, David questioning the safety of the plane and Serena almost sorting things out with Conner. Has anyone noticed in TV when things are going really well for a couple trajedy is just round the corner?
