Re: Webmail - down?

Fawksie wrote:Webmail is a client. It is not the entire mail system, a unrelated component of which was taken down for scheduled maintenance.

Ooh, bold! Either way, the point remains the same.

Re: Another fucking idiot.

I saw some idiots doing it in North Haugh last week. They were just jumping off ledges at the stairs down to Physics though - it looked incredibly lame.

That seems like a fairly good reason to blame webmail. Why do we need scheduled outages?

Re: Webmail Spam Filters...

Hundreds of students forwarding all their University e-mail is what gets us blacklisted on Hotmail every time a mass-mail goes out. It's a foolish idea and it has no relevance to Duggeh's problem. Yes, good. Blame the users. Sorry, who or what else would you like me to blame? If 200 identical e-mai...

Re: Football Fans of the Forum!

The Union is generally alright for most televised games. However, on a Champions League night, they may be showing the Celtic game instead of one of the English teams. Fair enough, as you are in Scotland but it can be a bit frustrating if you get there nice and early, get a good seat and settle dow...

Re: Football Fans of the Forum!

Atmosphere-wise the union is okay for big international games, but generally crap for league games. However, they have an insanely bad streaming system on their TVs which produces a noticable lage between those and the big projector (and wastes screen space with adverts) - so if you go to watch foot...

Re:

Thanks. Its nothing serious really. I just don't like the fact that I keep on getting emails, letters and now a phonecall from the national student survey when they offer absolutely no way of opting out. And why do they need my phone number?! One email is fair enough, but they should just take the h...

Complaining, but who to?

Who at the university is the best person to write to in relation to their use of my personal details?

Someone like a data protection officer or something. If this is too specific a more general person would be good too.

Quoting Malcolm from 15:36, 20th Aug 2006 http://members.gamedev.net/ukdeveloper/broken.JPG That's annoying. I need it to revise as well. I doubt they've noticed. Who should I e-mail? Not sure what the ITS e-mail address is, should I just e-mail the Helpdesk? Yes. Also, email your department asking...

Getting to Meadowbank Stadium... how?

Quite obvious from the title, but I'm going to meadowbank stadium next week and have only a vague idea where it is.

If anyone knows Edinburgh, can you tell me how you'd recommend getting there (from Glasgow)? Options are Train / Bus / Car.

Thankyou.

Quoting griggsy from 14:57, 13th Sep 2005 Just annoys me that Gordon Brown is asking OPEC to increase supply when there is a finite supply. And the amount of fuel duty and VAT on fuel is ridiculous, why dont they do it for aviation fuel?? Sorry, rant over Because they don't need money to repair pot...
