Computer Courses

Ok, so you know how on your CV you're meant to write down your computer skills? Well, my 'skills' at the moment include surfing the web, AOL instant messanger AND msn, writing essays on Word, and um, writing things into the columns of a spreadsheet on Excel, although I don't know how to do the equat...

ummm.. I think the voltage in the european mains is about twice that of what the american ones have, although I don't remember the exact numbers. this means that by plugging in your hairdryer you are pumping about twice the electricity it can handle into it. I would not recommend this. The idea of v...

Make most of the free coffee/tea/hot choc machine brought into the common room in Macintosh. What they don't tell you is that it is just there for Fresher's week. After this, they take it away. And lock it up. And you'll only see it if you make it down to breakfast. Which, if you're doing arts, you ...

When do I matriculate?

I am going into fourth year and (embarrassingly) don't know when I need to arrive by to matriculate. I know halls have lists, that tell you where to go by subject, or was it by the letter of your last name, but where do the rest of us look? Where would I go to see what day I need to be in Younger Ha...

Student Travel Telephone Number

I would like to phone Student Travel in the Union, but cannot seem to find their number online. Would anyone happen to have this number, and if so, be kind enough to post it here?

On a related note, are there any other airport taxi services to St. Andrews than the one provided by Student Travel?

I am not really taking a stand on the issue but would like to present this interesting factoid that rarely comes up in conversation. My cousin (non-smoker) went clubbing in New York before and after the non-smoking ban was introduced and said that after it was absolutely horrible. Why? Because with ...

Re:

I think one way to reach an conclusion would be by taking part in this small experiment in imagining: 1. You feel that you are heterosexual. 2. You undergo sexual 'realignment' treatment. Would you change to be homosexual? And following, would that change be temporary/permanent? Do you think you wou...

My favorite part has to be: 'Gay couples have more group sex, more failed relationships. Gay couplings are characteristically brief and very volatile, with much fighting, arguing, making up again, and continual disappointments. We owe it to young people to tell them that, if they go in that directio...

I wouldn't be posting if I wasn't so thoroughly confused with a simple term that I am actually embarrassed to ask my tutor about this, and cannot seem to find a satisfactory answer in the books I have.
