Re:

Its a funny thing - I (being American) was used to having my bags packed for me, so when I first came here, I didn't know what the right answer to "do you need a help packing?" was. If you do request help, it is difficult to actually help in the packing process as the cashier usually packs the goods...

Re:

Quoting exnihilo from 01:03, 13th Dec 2005 I'm starting to get tired of saying this. Americans do not pay more than other students. The only difference is that as an American you paid all your fees, as a UK/EU resident you pay some and the government pays the rest. The amount the university gets pe...

Haha nope. I just want to meet the man behind the posts, thats all. I can understand that the tone of my request might be unclear in the context of this thread, but rest assured I do not want to fight you. Anyway, if you'd like to meet sometime let me know. I find this medium somewhat impersonal. Qu...

Quoting Bonnie from 15:22, 8th Dec 2005 Thing about AP is, they don't accept it here. I took lots of AP courses for my last two years of high school (If I'd gone to some of the other universities I was appliying to, I would have had a whole year written off). However, as soon as I found out I was c...

Re:

Quoting from 13:03, 7th Dec 2005 No more of these "moral decline" arguments? Why not? Doesn't moral decline exist? An increase in casual sex. Lax attitudes towards said sex. Rises in abortion. Ridiculous limits on points at which babies can be aborted. The increasing prevalence of pornography which...

Quoting exnihilo from 22:49, 6th Dec 2005 They were both useless and bigoted. His "statistics" about single gay men, about instances of cancer, about single lesbian promiscuity have no bearing whatever on parenting skills. As has already been pointed out, it's not the swinging bachelors who'll be l...

Don't play dumb and pretend you can't see the connections here. I find this particularly amusing. I'm a...

Am I alone in finding it suspicious that Grandpa's seemingly sole ally shares a name with a famous fictional character?

Nope I'm not Grandpa. For those who care I'm Aaron Nash.

Quoting Bryn from 11:19, 28th Nov 2005 Quoting Grandpa from 05:41, 28th Nov 2005 Read my posts on the Students Assoc./Union board for my view of that particular ramshackle disorganisation. Re:

Quoting bdw from 09:41, 23rd Nov 2005 I think you might find this interesting derya - by not providing a reasonable temperature without the use of special clothing, the university is violating the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992 and thus, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974...

Re:

Quoting exnihilo from 14:34, 22nd Nov 2005 I can't have spent less than £500 a year I wouldn't have thought. Not as much as the fees, but the two are not related. You can't have a situation where student numbers have doubled in ten years and funding has not and expect the university to double the n...

You are right!

Quoting Grandpa from 22:29, 21st Nov 2005 The library is a disgrace. This is meant to be a world-class institution, and I should be proud to say I studied here - I'm sure I will be - but I'd be even more proud to say I studied at a university with a library conducive to studying. Not only are there...
