Re:

They helped me unload my things, met my roommate, spoke to some other parents and then disappeared off by dinnertime leaving me to meet people in my hall. I...

hm i dont know about big second hand bookshops, but i know whereabouts in Edinburgh there are a lot of small ones. On Nicholson Street there's an Oxfam bookshop, as well as a few bookstores along Buccleuch Street. You're more likely to find second hand academic stuff around this area as Nicholson st...

Luke Mitchell - innocent?

Did anyone else see that programme last night on the beeb on Jodi Jones' murderer Luke Mitchell? Any thoughts from anyone? Iv been hunting round online trying to find any kind of reaction to it, and cant find anything beyond an outraged article about the reaction of Jones' family in the Daily Record...

I remember in the aftermath of the COlumbine shooting, a fair load of blame/speculation was heaped on the killers favourite music, i.e. Marilyn Manson. Im sort of wondering if there's a similar bit of scapegoating going on here with this guy's creative writing... [hr] Nothing is easier than to conde...

Quoting MacMan from 19:58, 31st Mar 2007 This is an unusual one but one thing I can't stand is petty officiousness. People who like to boss you about and spoil your fun for no apparant reason. Thank god Im not the only one who's noticed this! I think it's on-going rather than just something to do with this time of year though. I understand that parents will always want to better the education of their kids, but if by doing so you end up bankrupting yourself in the process, only to find that they've made it to a good university along with all us untouchables, then it really begs the question: just what was the point? Pagan Osborne are not healthy for your blood pressure, i know this as I've been with them for some time too.
