Don't buy the french grammar book. I used it once when revising for my exams this semester and that was only for the verb tables I have in my dictionary anyway. i take french and beginner italian and i'm in first year at the mo. french isn't great. i think i'd covered about 98% of the grammar done in lectures for a-level....and 9am mondays is never good....

italian is great tho! the staff are lovely! and i'm really enjoying it :)

yes, defo get off at waverley and once you're out of the station, turn left and the bus stop is just round the bend. it's £3.50 for a single or £5 for an open return and it takes you all the way to the door (well practically!)

it's a complicated issue. having been there, done that etc, i can really understand why ppl do it. the problem is, and that i found, is that generally, ppl can't accept it so you can get cut off which i guess you've probably come across already. my personal view is, in the long run, it's not great. ...

hey,
i do FR1001 too, the lit part of the paper is a commentary on whatever you didn't do it on before. ie, if you did the maupassant commentary to hand in, you'll have to do one on a poem. try not to worry! we're only first years so no stress!!! :-)
