Re:

Also during freshers week the freshers haven´t received their matric cards yet, and so most people just get in by saying they´re freshers with no matric cards. They do give you those "make your own card" things, but I never used them

Re:

It´s not that it´s turning into big brother, the problem is that it has removed the fun from facebook. While before, you could waste hours of your life searching (facebook stalking) for this information about people, now they´ve done all the work for you! It´s like, what´s the point?

I really like the honda advert! (I'm clearly a nerd), but I HATE Confused.com. It looks like the entire advert was created in someone's garage using Microsoft WordArt

Re:

I think the American usage of Esq. to indicate that someone has a law degree makes the most sense. If doctors get to add a prefix to their names, lawyers should get to add a suffix. I don't see any sense in it being used as a substitute for mister, though, I mean, if it doesn't really mean anything,...

Re:

Since this thread is about Aikmans and not about the smoking ban in general, I'd like to say that I have always thought of smoke as part of the atmosphere of the Cellar. That doesn't mean that we should be allowed to smoke in all pubs, but I think of the Cellar as a place that's smokey, musty, and o...

Re:

Smith isn't necessarily opposed to large corporations, just the neo-liberal bias of the economics department... of course, everyone expects economists to be neo-liberal, if if they were economic protectionists they would study IR, and if they were conservative they would study Art History.

Good luck to you with your fantastic money and 'power' but don't forget to envy me with the life that I will enjoy.

Re:

What makes you think that if the University told us not even where our lectures were to be held, but simply where to enroll for a class this is spoonfeeding? That is possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I don't know what your degree is, but mine isn't in being a frigging detective, an...

Sustainable Development Enrolment

Does anyone know where first year Sustainable Development meets/enrolls?

I don't know where the bulletin board is or even where the department is, so I can't check (if anyone knows the location of either of these that would be helpful too)

IR for example expect 11's in 1st year.

No they don't, they expect a 5. I only know because I got an 8 in IR1005 (shh don't tell anyone) and did not have to resit the exam or repeat the module.

Re:

The problem with St Andrews offering a film studies degree isn't that it's a stupid subject (it's not). It's that St Andrews isn't prepared to offer a GOOD film studies degree. Shakespeare and film certainly ARE comparable, however, St Andrews doesn't have a separate department for studying theatre ...

We use tiscali in my flat, and we haven't had any problems at all. We have 2meg speed, and there are no download limits. You could smear your room in faeces so no one will dare enter and so nothing will get stolen.
