Quoting maenad from 12:54, 22nd May 2007 How exactly does the process work? Do you have one person mark all the scripts, then hand them to someone else who removes the anonymisation strips and types your marks into the computer? Last semester I got an email from my Greek tutor before results were p...
Quoting box_of_delights from 22:36, 21st May 2007 Quoting lts2 from 21:57, 21st May 2007 Good God, I never did when I taught. But then, I generally didn't let my little darlings hand in stuff written in their own fair paws. So I wouldn't have had a clue. Well I went to get some assessed work back t...
Quoting Malcolm from 22:26, 21st May 2007 In Soviet Russia, exam anonymises you. Surely if it's a smaller number of people, like Honours Sustainable Development, it might become obvious after a while whose is whose even with the anonymity measures in place? Case in point, exams given in departmenta...
Is there a rule that all exams must be anonymised?
I'd assumed so, but then Symbolic Computation one really wasn't. As in, it had no anonymising measures at all, as far as I know. Although, that wasn't really an exam, I don't think.
I actually started growing a beard over easter to prepare for this. Or because I couldn't be bothered shaving. Then I changed it to a goatee because I couldn't be bothered shaving it all off, which sort of ruined the plan. Oh well. At least it doesn't look too bad. Although I am a maths student, so ...
Topics in Groups is probably on one of the best MMath courses, if you don't mind algebra. There's a lot of stuff, but lectures and notes are very clear. Courses by Stratmann tend to be hard, but can be ultimately very rewarding if you put a lot of work in. Graph Theory [which won't be on next year, ...
Quoting Frank from 02:03, 11th May 2007 Never met this Tom D'ardenne bloke in person, nor do I really have much to comment about him at all (seems to have done a great job as president etc), but I must say this: He's alot smaller than I thought he'd be! That is: He was at the Valedictory Dinner in ...
Quoting Okocim from 23:02, 12th Mar 2007 I don't know but I just got a crazy moment of deja vu - five seconds before seeing this thread I was on a totally unrelated website which said precisely the same thing ("Best BBC News Story Ever") about the same link. That was weird. Entirely possible we bot...
Quoting Fedoraccoon from 12:05, 7th Mar 2007 You make an absolutely right point. The unfortunate fact is that we probably wouldn't have been there to say "Wait! Don't get in the car!" So if you didn't find the mine, everyone in the car, including the innocents, would have died. Which brings us neat...
Quoting Bullet_MaGnEt from 20:24, 5th Mar 2007 Er that had better not be the case as last time I was still on everyones hitlist after putting two squadies 6 feet under.
Weren't you wanted rather than incompetant, having killed about half a dozen innocents?
Out of interest, is the umpire this round sticking with last round's decision that killing members of the hit squad counts as kills to get you off the incompetence list?
Quoting Craicman from 18:18, 3rd Mar 2007 Quoting JAK from 16:02, 3rd Mar 2007 I've got to say I'd agree with Frank that there should exist the possibility for hit squad to become incompetant. I mean, as I understand it if they end up killing innocents, there's nothing that can be done to them beca...

Quoting Spadge Mince from 17:25, 28th Feb 2007 If wessex didn't die by you he would have been gubbed by the hit squad. His untimely death kinda scuppered our plans on getting him In other words, you weren't fast enough? I mean, not like you didn't know he had assassins closer to him who were after ...
Quoting October from 17:21, 19th Feb 2007 Quoting Frank from 17:10, 19th Feb 2007 However, I still feel water is acceptable indoors. Well, I'm not sure if you are aware, But many hall assassins have been stopped because of water guns. Not every one will clean up the mess, and what happens when what...
