Re:

Woe is me, life is not going to be quite as awesome for the next few months. I don't often feel like hurling random abuse, but for those of us whose summer fell through, their mates are not home, or are too busy to spend any time with them, and don't have a fine young wench to come back too this is ...

Re:

Most guys have been in the friend zone at some point in their life, and most eventually just accept that it is inescapable. Any effort to change that is just wasting your time, and possibly creeping the girl out a little. You don't have to be scared of messing up a friendship to decide thats not a g...

Re:

Is he a friend that you want to keep or just some random that you would really like to go away? either way you really have to be very clear to him where you stand, and be careful not to do anything that could be considered leading him on. In many ways it is alot harder if they are a friend as you ma...

Can I just point out that he did not say the uni was like a polytechnic, but "that the governance of this institution in recent years has been more akin to an old English polytechnic than a Scottish university." ie His quibble was with the way it is being run and the way it is going rather than what...

Re:

I think it is actually a good idea. It works like a full sized police helicopter, only is much cheaper, much more flexable and less of a civil liberties violation because they have limited range, which means that the police really have to know what they are looking for. I personally have faith that ...

What are friends for?

It's been bugging me recently, is it unreasonable to expect certain things of them? I know I am prepared to go a lot out of my way for the people I care about, and I do, so is it me thats being the ass by getting upset that they don't seem to ever make any effort? I was going to suggest a poll, any ...

Quoting Harry Giles from 19:55, 20th Dec 2006 Quoting exnihilo from 20:16, 18th Dec 2006 People do fit into neat little boxes, by and large we can all describe ourselves as closely as we would need to do by listing perhaps half a dozen characteristics. This is, empirically, nonsense, and would only...

I heard someone got hit by a taxi (from a taxi driver who was pretty shook up by it), I would also imagine if I saw an on duty police officer who didn't help, (bearing in mind I don't think I could really offer anything useful) I would use some pretty derogitory terms. anyone know if she is ok or no...

Quoting straightguy from 04:33, 3rd Dec 2006 It's a bit of a weird topic to suddenly drop into conversation! Prostitution is not exactly acceptable to the majority of people in our society. my understanding of it was that green taxes are supposed to make people and companies take into account various social costs which otherwise they can get away with not paying. ie. the real 'cost' to the enviroment of chucking chemicals into the sea. without green taxes the cheapest option here finan...

the only thing like that that I am suspicious of is the damage to the pentagon (which is not consistent with what happened to it). that however doesn't require some sort of conspirecy, just a faulty missile. The confusing part is the vanishing plane. planes don't usually crash and leave no wreckage....
