From the NYC St Andrews alumni listerv: Hi everyone - Following is a press release for Adam L.G. Nevill's upcoming supernatural thriller, 'Banquet for the Damned', which is set in St Andrews. Thought I'd pass it along for those who might be interested. I, for one, am looking forward to it - and it c...

But don't pour unused toffee down the sink, like my friend wanted to do. Whoa boy.

Thanks, David! You're quite right. Ah, the joyous days of picking up the term planner from BESS for the wall of my room, and inscribing the name of the new term, before heading off to the Central, and the demise of all my good intentions!

1990s Philosophy Postgrad. death

I know this is rather morbid, but does anyone know the name of the philosophy postgrad. who died in the 1990s as a result of a fire in his flat?

Or you could just lounge around in the sun all day and wander down to one of the beach parties by night.[/quote]

Or start drinking at 11am.

Which actually lost its appeal quite quickly, to my great surprise.

52A Argyle Street

Ha! The last time I was back in St Andrews I discovered that the house containing the flat I lived in (52a Argyle Street, if I remember aright--it used to be an old fashioned house with two flats upstairs reached by a communal stair) had been turned into some sort of complex. And DRH has gone. I am ...

I thought of US Customs, too... and then decided a don't ask, don't tell policy would be a good one! But there's always the risk of leakage... so sand and a shell of pebble or so might be a better bet!

Could you send me St. A's sand and sea?

I left St Andrews more years ago than I care to recall, and still love the place, especially since I'm now an ex-pat in the US. This might be weird, but I'd like to have a small piece of St. Andrews in my house and office. So, I was wondering if anyone would indulge me here by collecting a bit of sa...
