Re: So I hear Aikmans has gone Bankrupt?

And if so, the justification for the Union retaining its late licence is further eroded. Why give it to the Union when you're not giving it to Aikman's? And what happens to the bar takings then? :/ Actually, this gives more gravitas to the Union's late licence. The Union has been operating since 19...

Re: Heroin in St Andrews

Yes they do - Student Support have dealt with this sort of thing before. However, they only deal with it if the individuals come forward and actually ask for help.

Re: Raisin Sunday sightings

Apparently this Raisin Sunday/Monday was the least eventful in recent history. The fewest number of complaints to the University, no serious injuries, and although there was a higher police presence this year, I don't think there were any major disturbances. Several people have commented that while ...

Re: Best Bar None

I've been told that the Union was awarded the Silver prize (with Gold going to a club in Dunfermline).
Several places in town managed to achieve Bronze, although the Union was the only place to get Silver.
Mackays didn't even qualify for an award.

Re: Soul Bop

There should be an 'end of term bop' which plays only songs requested. Place your suggestions here, and hopefully the DJs will take them on board.

Best Bar None

Has anyone else spotted the plaque just inside the Union (by the porters' office)?
Best Bar None - Silver award. Well done the Union.
How did the Union compare to other places in town, and who won gold?

Re: Boys at the Bop

If you see any form of unacceptable behaviour anywhere in the Union, tell a member of security staff. The Union takes a no-nonsense approach, as everyone in the building has the right to enjoy themselves without feeling threatened.

Re: Bike Lights - Only £2

I'm all for sticking to remits too, but what about sticking adverts in an advertising banner, or at the very least, on the TRADING board?!?

Re: What's changed?

The Bop costs £3.50, but Multicolour is free (you just need to buy a drink to get a free wristband)

Re: Series Three of Heroes

Can we keep this thread to BBC timeline only? (Or can the mods setup a 'spoiler' feature like I've seen on other phpbb sites?)

Re: Russell Brand Resigns

.... While we're at it, Justin Lee Collins, Alan Carr, Chris Moyles and shows like "The Mighty Boosh" should all be axed as well. I'd rather watch reruns of Only Fools and Horses quite frankly, and as choice in the BBC seems to have become either a re-run or an excerable new comedy act re...

Geopursuit

Has anyone else signed up to this Geopursuit competition? I got a door hanger placed on my door the other week, and I'm really stoked about it. I've no idea how many other people around the country are playing, so I can't work out my chances of winning the £10k, so I thought I'd see how many others ...

Re: What is wrong with the bop?!

The flyers that we got in the halls say "there's a time and a place", and the freshers' week publicity said "there's a time and a place for cheese" So if you haven't been to the bop recently, you'll probably find that it's different from last year (under new management and all th...

Re: Drinking vs Going Teetotal at Uni

During Freshers' Week, the union provided a different colour wristband for its new members who were under 18 (even if they turned 18 during the week, they still had a green wristband until the day after their birthday). If you're under 18 you still have the right to enjoy all the facilities within t...

Success prompts growth - wtf?

http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/news/Title,24581,en.html The University of St Andrews will welcome its biggest ever population of students this year - thanks to a huge surge in acceptances of offers to study at Scotland's leading university. This year, all leading UK universities have experienced except...
