Ozymandias - Shelley I met a traveller from an antique land Who said:—Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand, Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet ...

Re:

I can only really comment on the train/bus option - have no idea what the road route would look like from Glasgow (short of getting to the Omni roundabout in Edinburgh, ,left and taking the first right onto the London road - keep on that and you'd see the stadium after about a mile and a quarter). T...

Saw it a week last Saturday. So much in improv depends on the audience - so when there's a couple of stag parties in there, as there were, it was probably a bit cruder than normal. That said, normal would be very, very crude. Very funny, mind. Well worth seeing if you get the chance. Quoting merry f...

That said, journey time is just under 12 hours...

Bob: "I wanted to see a war run so badly." Blakadder: "Well you've come to the right place, then. There hasn't been a war run this badly since Olaf the hairy, King of all the Vikings, ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside." George: "If we do happen to step on a mine, Sir, what d...

Hmm - Lonely Pilgrim, exnihilo, Eliot Wilson, David Bean, and Miz Manda for being reasoned and at times very illuminating in their postings. Zombie Sheep and Kate Bush for their passion, in terms of not being afraid to say what they think.

I'd hazard a guess that Hamilton is somewhere on the list. It certainly was an all-male hall at one point, I'm just not sure it was in 1948..

I had William Walker for International Politics of Nuclear Weapons (though I suspect the 3000-level module is Asian Security, so I can only give some general guidance). Back in the day, Asian Security was one of the more popular modules, and everyone I knew that did it certainly found it interesting...

Correct me if I'm wrong here - but isn't the obligatory £43 pound charge for life membership of the General Council? Giving you your chance to elect the Chancellor, and a very shiny biennial magazine with lots of information about the university, and thinly disguised appeals for you to give them yet...

The Horse Whisperer - Nicholas Evans. A reasonable book until about page 10, whereupon it degenerates into the worst kind of romantic fiction. Falls into the trap of killing off characters when they threaten to make everything too damm complicated. Fortunately, this tendency means the reader is spar...

If you're driving - take the A913 to Cupar, then get on the M90 to Perth. At the Broxden roundabout, follow the signs for Braemar. Go over the Friarton Bridge, and left into Perth itself. Then follow the A93 to Blairgowrie, then through Blairgowrie to Braemar - Glenshee is signposted from there. Sho...
