Hi I know it is a cheap one and therefore probably not going to last that long, but my 2 yr old Canon S100 has just stopped working, last week if I unplugged it several times it would print eventually, but now it does absolutely nothing when I turn it on...silence, not the usual warming up stuff. I ...

"No-one knows for sure exactly how the residents of Tyneside or perhaps more accurately Newcastle-upon-Tyne became known as Geordies. One theory is that it was the name given to the workers of the railway pioneer [George] `Geordie' Stephenson, another is that it was a term for a pitman deriving from...

An Newcastle accent as it was put, is more commonly refferred to as Geordie and is said to be one of the more friendly sounding UK accents. It rocks, not that I'm biased or anything :-)!

Re:

In the case of the AA then you're right, at home (Newcastle) it costs £16/hr with the AA if you block book 12 hrs (£18/hr if you don't), but in St Andrews its gonna cost me £18/hr if I block book and £20/hr if I dont :( BUT, I have to say I think its worth paying with the AA they have been excellent...

Re:

Hiya

I'm having lessons with an AA instructor when I go back. I've had lessons with the AA all summer at home and I would reccommend them.

The cars are Ford Focus's and very nice indeed to drive.

Hope this helps

Re:

I could be wrong of course but RG probably stands for Regents Room and 1c (a, b, and c for 3 people, your roomies will have been allocated 1a and 1b)almost definately means 1st floor and the regents room is on the first floor. I reckon you're pretty much definately in the Regents room, I live and wo...

It was in my first yr that the Regents room was used as a bedroom (if this is the room you have been allocated it will prob be known as room 5) They cover all of the wi...

Digi photos

If they are just stored on a computer and you don't have the digital camera stuff, you can go to the Boots website and download their viewer, upload your photos and complete an online order, i think its about 30p/photo + £1.50ish postage. I did it a while back from photos my dad emailed me off his d...

Hi Katy I had similar problems in my first year last year....and ended up taking second year english in my first year. It was quite scary at first but i soon settled down and managed to pass despite being worried about it! Speak to your adviser about it, but it may also be wise to speak to represent...

I wouldn't put it past him! To most people it is just a way to make a fast buck...as many rational people would expect, red gowns are not really much use after graduation. But this is Marty we're talking about, he has become quite infamous and hasn't even arrived yet!

It seems from previous threads that you are going to be a fresher next week, so how come you know so much already?!?!? The second hand gowns are actually for the most part just as good as the new ones! If you're going to fit in at this university and lead a fulfilling student life then I think it wo...

The top floor of the union for most of freshers week, here you can get both second hand (from about £60/70) and new from about £80...don't quote me on this I can't remember exactly, but its often just as good to buy second hand. Technically they are red, although when you go to the union you will se...

View or not :-)

Generally, if you're in a shared room in first year you have a good chance of getting a nice veiw....of the golf course, the beach or both. If you're a first year in the main hall in a single room then the chances of getting a veiw are slim...but in my experience its really not that bad if you have ...
