Re: Student protests Nov. 24

No idea what it's like in St Andrews but once again in London, it's getting a little 'heavy'.

Re: Former rector dies

Sad to see. Very funny guy and an always shockingly impressive previous life. He also seemed to take quite an interest in us students while rector.

since we've got a new shiny sinner...

...I reckon it's about time we return to a sinner favourite.

You all just lost. The Game. That's all I have to say for now. Actually, except to say I quite like this new site and the return of a long forgotten belt buckle post has made my night.

Re:

If you mean Creme de la crepe, last time I saw him he was trying to make it in the big smoke, London. A little bit more competition though, he had his stall at London's trendy foodie market, Borough Market. Still, good luck to him! [hr] Nobody ever mentions the weather can make or break your day

Re:

It's refreshing to have a decent thread on coffee for once. I'm not going to be witty, all the best ones have gone. Save to say I take my coffee like my whisky, that is straight, maybe with a dash of water. Second, I second the cinnamon latte is not coffee. This is quite the equivalent of saying tha...

Lovely to see a few pictures of St Andrews again. Since it'd be rude not to post a picture myself, here's what I saw every day for nine months whilst I was living in Normandy last year. http://www.flickr.com/photos/51755027@N00/375449465/ [hr] Nobody ever mentions the weather can make or break your ...

Re:

I love St Andrews; I really do. And it's a very good university. But when it comes to public opinion I think it's necessary to escape from the St Andrews bubble mentality a bit. Public opinion says St Andrews is very good whereas Oxbridge is internationally renowned. Barring the Ivy League perhaps, ...

Re:

I saw it once too. A greenish red moving glow that I saw from the North Haugh as I looked to the sea.

And I remember it well. It's unlikely I'll see it again anytime soon, living in Tooting in south west London..

Re:

A fairly recent graduate (June '06) I'm perhaps qualified to comment. I graduated and then worked jolly hard that summer. And then as soon as I could, I got away from Britain on a gap year of sorts. I think if I had stuck around I would have missed the place too much. So, I moved to France for 9 mon...

Well done guys - no shame at all in getting to where you did, I reckon.

I think BBC's iPlayer was useful for the first ever time too actually, having just seen it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

I'm proud to report that today we played the full unedited version in all its profane(!) glory on BBC Radio Leeds!

Well, erm, it wasn't exactly my decision but I'm proud nevertheless...

An unblocked nose, the gadget that gives you DAB radio on your iPod and a decent bottle of whisky.

There are tons of other things that I'd like too, though those are the ones that spring to mind.

Re:

It might also be worth pointing out that instead of actually converting the file there are also programs out there that will simply record the audio being played on your computer into a wav or mp3/mp4 file. You will have to listen to the entire file though to do this. Audio Hijack for the Mac is one...

Probably not the first place I'd think to post a message regarding the state of the English football team but after tonight's performance I wholeheartedly agree.

I suppose I've been around for a little while, now. Though I'm pretty quiet nowadays. Let's see, I was in first year in 2002 and I guess I started around then, though I reckon I registered early 2003. And what, it'll soon be 2008! Either way, it was around the time of The Crab. Re:

It's nice to see cynicism on the Sinner is still alive and kicking! As a graduate though, I needlessly say that I am really rather jealous such an event taking place in St Andrews this year, especially as it involves Star FM. Have fun! I imagine that that new multitouch gizmo is rather sweet and, being Apple, it looks like it's all rather beautifully packaged together but I'm afraid I'm going to post the usual disclaimer about there not being any decently fast internet connection once away from a wifi hotspot. Also, having seen on...
