Re: A thread by any other name...

PLEASE tell me he's still writing porn - I remember one about a magic amulet that made boobs bigger... Oh, and I officially qualify as old too. Graduated in '04, and again thought I'd nose around the Sinner in hope of finding someone to discuss formal dress with (what has happened to the Formal Dres...

Re: Formal Dress Forum

Heres a question. About 2 miles away an ex savile row tailor (ok not ex Savile row ex but round the corner) tailors my suits for £75. I buy off the peg - he alters sleeves, shoulders, jackets length, jacket width, trouser length, trouser seat and waist for circa £100. I think thats awesome and use ...

Re: The country's top matchmaking university?

William doesn't have a degree in Art History, he has an MA in Geography. Having been in most of his classes, and at his graduation ceremony I can happily say that that fact is absolutely incorrect. I also can't remember a speech saying that we were a matchmaking university, again having been in the ...

If you read any of Prophet Tenebrae's pornography then you'd have been scarred for life. This I think also makes me respectably old as I remember all of these things.

Re: Formal Dress Forum

I defy you to show me a picture of anyone in evening clothes with the bottom button of their waistcoat unfastened. Day clothes: yes, absolutely, bottom button always undone. Evening clothes: no. What about this fellow Donald? Granted, he doesn't appear to know much about anything. http://www.davids...

Re: Formal Dress Forum

A couple of questions for those who still frequent these halls... The first is with reference to the continental fashion of wearing shoes without socks. Obviously this would not be on if one was wearing dress shoes, but I've started doing it with loafers and deck shoes, especially in this infernal A...

Re: Former rector dies

Yes, very sad. He was the Rector for the majority of my time here (Andrew Neill was under Rectorial Drag in my 1st year). Always made me chuckle in LPH (despite the fact it was always the same jokes).

Re: The CU and the Union

Couple of points as a former CU member and hack: - The reason the CU is not affiliated is due to membership not being open to everyone, so this is the primary reason. - The elections run somewhat differently in the CU, consisting of the outgoing committee discussing and praying about it and then pre...

Re: Why is it absolutely fucking freezing in my house?

This isn't going to appease any of the cold people, but when I was in Melville the hot water pipes for the whole block ran around the top of my room, which meant that my room was always super-toasty. So warm in fact, sometimes I'd open the window even though it was snowing outside.

Gaudeamus disco

Does anyone else have the Gaudeamus midi file that adds a funky disco beat to the popular tune? I'm listening to it at the moment - and I'm very much a fan. I'd imagine Dr Covino also has a copy - it'd be right up his street.

Re: SKeleton KeY

Hi guys, I've bought the unit that used to have the butchers in it. I'm opening a new kind of shop called AniMAL SkEleToN which will sell various types of products that come off animal skeletons, cut in lots of different ways. It's very popular in my other store in Sweden where the products are cal...

Re: Wanted: One Rector

Shame. Not having been in St Andrews for 4 years, I've paid little attention to the Rectorial elections, and hadn't even noted that Chay Blyth was running. He's a hero of mine (as someone who likes sailing a lot). But it looks as if we've got another tree-hugger, hurrah. FoE as well. These are some ...
