Re:

when you enter the UK through whichever airport from the US, you have to have documentation to show the passport and immigration officials that proves you are entering to study on a full time basis. this would be your letter of acceptance and confirmation of a place on your course from the universit...

however, i was never half as freaked out over the piano in mcintosh as i was during a few short nights in hamilton over the summer. myself and one other person were up on the fourth floor all alone and i could NOT handle it. why are those walls painted that greenish color? it makes the place glow gr...

Re:

if the unfair charge is a civil matter you can try going to citizens' rights and advice in that churchy building next door to the union. they have funny office hours (like mondays and wednesdays from 2-4 pm for people wearing yellow shirts and 11-12.30 for people in green shirts) but if there's anyt...

Re:

oh and the uni hall demonic possession story i heard from two separate people (both postgrads who've been in town for ages) so maybe they heard it from someone who was around a long time ago. i agree that joe carson (the warden) is scarier than any ghost in that hall could possibly be.

i heard the info on rooms in regs and university hall being closed off from people who've been subwardens there. maybe they were just lying to make friends. i *definitely* heard the mcintosh piano play sans (human) player but concede it well could have been mice. a girl on my course last year worked...

i've heard ghost stories concerning just about every corner of town. most are probably superstition, but who knows? i've heard stories about the top floor in hamilton hall, backstage in the byre's main auditorium, at least 3 ghosts in dean's court, one of the houses at the cathedral end of south str...

and by the way, al, per your 'jumping to conclusions' comment...perhaps you're in the undergraduate module of that degree as you've never bothered to ask 1) if i did look into st. andrews before coming here (i did) and 2) if i'm funded or not (i'm not). so, no, i didn't traipse over here in ignorant...

for the record, i *did* visit st. andrews before deciding to sign the all-important cheque. like many other discontented students, i fell for the hard sell that is this university's admissions 'policy'. i am not getting any money to be here, i am here for my subject, my department's rating and for t...

i doubt she can have my place. i'm a PhD student. relocating my research elsewhere is a little easier said than done. don't think i don't want to. i'd give anything to run as far as possible from this image-obsessed cash cow. at least as a research student i'm responsible for the quality of my own l...
