Re:

I don't know how relevant this is to you, but years ago when I worked as a homework helper at school I found some of the SEN kids (particularly those who had very poor reading skills) were given tasks that were WAY beyond their abilities. On at least two occasions, after sitting with a perplexed chi...

Re:

I just checked the DTI website (below). If you think you have been underpaid you should call the national minumum wage helpline on 0845 6000 678. They should be able to help you.

If you're interested in the dates for Harry Potter, take a look at www.hp-lexicon.org where they have a very thorough timeline. It hasn't been updated yet for the new book but I'm sure it will be fairly soon.

Re:

Yeah I agree with comments about the epilogue. However despite such iffy bits, I enjoyed the book overall. At first I was disappointed that Snape didn't get a more dramatic, heroic end but after thinking about it for a while I changed my mind. Snape was always desperate for glory and respect from ot...

Re:

This isn't the best forum to get advice on that I'm afraid. I'd check with a solicitor (or at very least the Citizen's advice Bureau). Good luck.

Re:

My modern history dissertation was done back in 2002 but I got a very good grade for it so perhaps if I outlined what I did it might help? My title was "The 19th century governess and images of womanhood". Firstly, I read up on all the secondary literature I could get my hands on (I had a very unres...

HSBC has recently opened a large branch on Princes St but also has an older one on Hanover St. I can understand having two branches in Edinburgh, but having two within a minute's walk from one another? That's bizzare!

Re:

Ah thanks for the tip about Beck's advantage. I wouldn't have thought of that. It makes figuring out the best way to move a bit tricky. After all, there's also the added complexity of the Argyris & Schon double loop to take into account which may or may not conflict with the Nonaka generative. I thi...

Oh my old rabbit loved his football and played with it loads. I was very young at the time and he'd been dead for several years before mum finally told me what he was trying to do with it.

You should reference a text when you've used an idea from it, or it backs up a point you're making even if you haven't quoted directly. I love this trick - it means I can add enormous bibliographies to my essays!

Next time I make myself a bacon sandwich I'm going to grill it for seven minutes at precisely 240c to see if that is significantly better than my usual 'stick it under the grill at a random setting until it looks cooked' technique.

Back about five or six years ago I remember our hall janitor looking very put out as he explained that the new plug socket in our kitchen had cost the university several hundred pounds by external contractors when he could've done it for the price of the materials. Not that I'm promoting the use of ...

My current university is a member of NUS and I'm baffled as to what the benefits of it are. OK, so the union reps get training for their role, but it can't be much good because the reps here are far less professional than most in St Andrews. We allegedly get national representation, but so far nobod...
