Re:

Right. I took my PC to pieces and put it back together again. Cables everywhere. Tried a spare hard disc. Everything. Nothing worked properly. Looked in the BIOS. I must have accidentally switched the CPU Level 1 Cache to "off". Bugger. Incidentally, if you know what any of this means then you reall...

PC playing silly buggers

Now I have a question... :) This morning, as it has done for the past week or so, my PC switched itself on at 9:00. It's OK, I told it to do that, it's not posessed or anything. The noise of all the fans wakes me up. Anyway. The problem was that instead of booting up the operating system like it nor...

Re:

I've got it (and I'll be buying the CD when it comes out). Yes, the quality is excellent, but the version that's on the net isn't the final version that will be on CD. It's not been finally mastered yet, and the journos who have heard the real version (which has been digitally watermarked so they ca...

Re:

If it's like the normal warnings ITS give out (e.g. http://www.thesinner.co.uk/messageboard-viewthread.php?thread=3151 ) then it's just a warning, and all you should do is remove KaZaa (or whatever filesharing program you use) and delete said MP3s. ITS are well within their rights to cut off your co...

Cube

Anyone played this?

It's a bit rough around the edges, but I get phenominal frame rates, and very little lag.

Digital TV

Has anyone got Digital TV here? I hear that it's either extremely good for poor-reception areas, or you need a huge and expensive arial extension. I'm currently in the kinness valley, and I can't even get Channel 5, which means I'm missing out on dodgy soft porn and documentarys on Hitler.

Re:

Generally Linux isn't too picky about motherboards. The only ones to watch out for are the ones with onboard graphics cards, sound cards and stuff which may or may not have Linux drivers. If your case is a standard desktop/tower then you'll want a Socket A motherboard in ATX form factor, (or micro-A...

Julian does seem interested in what we have to say. Breaking the notion that nobody at ITS works at weekends, he's suggested that if we have any issues (or potential solutions) we present them to him in "digest form".

Post suggestions below.
