You can buy them on eBay it seems, but they tend to be between £50 and £100, and many of them would require a separate recorder pack carried in a backpack or on your belt. Can't say I could help with renting one.
I wondered that too, since it was only available to buy, and not hire. I presumed that, since it was only available to buy, that we didn't need it for the actual ceremony. This thread seems to confirm that!
Okay so, the exam results are out (apart from a few unlucky Computer Scientists). *grumble* However, does anyone know when the Degree Classifications are out? Does it just appear at the top of the Student Record page? Saturday, it seems. Have you put all your grades into the degree calculator on th...
are you sure you're counting all the (credit weighted) modules/disertations from 3rd and 4th year? I only ask because 8 seems very few modules for 4 semesters (for my degree, it could be absolutely right for yours, and all the usual disclamers) I know some others who have 8 30 credit modules, or si...
I don't often go to big theaters in the US, but I went to see Star Trek the other day, ordered a 'medium' soda, and was handed a 40oz 'two-hander' for $5. o.o Mmh, I went to the cinema in Boston a couple of years ago, asked for a medium coke, and I think it was larger than what you'd get if you ask...
Mmh. It's a bit silly in some ways though, I buy my fuel in litres (I know my tank holds 45 litres, I have no idea how many gallons my tank holds), yet I measure my car's efficiency in miles per gallon (and would have no idea how many litres per 100km my car does). I'm probably more comfortable with...
1 UK pint is 20 fl oz, whereas 1 US pint is 16 fl oz. However, the UK and US fluid ounces are different, too, with the UK one being some 28.41ml, and the US one being 29.57ml. Isn't the imperial system great?
Until such time as they get around to turning them off. Can take a few months, it seems. You're entitled to an @alumni.st-andrews.ac.uk account once you've graduated, though.
Have fun trying to buy a pint there, it seems there is quite a variation in what a pint is depending on where you go. Luckily though, a jug seems to be universal! ;) I on the other hand should be moving to the US, Minnesota to be precise, and it seems their alcohol laws are pretty reasonable (except...
But I guess, for geography students, that would involve practising and honing your colouring-in skills for Semester 2. Wouldn't want those skills to go to waste over Christmas, now, would we? =P Introductions 101 - How to Make People Feel Welcome ... written and edited by Sinners. Well, quite. :P
