For anyone who attends the meeting - apologies in advance for the truly dreadful slogan that's to be used on the election day fliers. All my fault. I still can't believe I came up with it. :P

Re:

Yes, it has been a bit confusing. As far as I can work out what happened is t hat the Stop the War coalition called for protests at 1pm the day war breaks out, but different towns have set slightly different times and St. Andrews has set 12.30.

if you don't believe we should go to war with Iraq...

...then at 12.30 on the day that war is declared, come to Church Square to demonstrate. There will be a demonstration in Church Square at 4pm tomorrow (Thursday) in any case. There's going to be a national demonstration in London on Saturday with a bus leaving from St. Andrews at 10pm on Friday nigh...

Re:

Oh, and there will be a RON campaign of some sort. Probably only fliers outside the Union on the day. (Hey, I'm a hardworking postgrad with anti-war campaigning to do too.) Hopefully, the main people organising it will have a thread up sometime tomorrow morning so that anyone who wants to help can g...

Marco's given his reasons for withdrawing from this election & they seem to me to be perfectly understandable. Anyone think RON has a serious chance? I would consider a RON campaign if so. But I don't know enough about St. Andrews student politics to judge whether it'd win.

As luck would have it, I've run a (successful) RON campaign before. If it looks like there's enough support, I'd consider it again.

No, RON can't be represented at hecklings.

Well, I pretty much do do exactly what I want without real reference to whoever I'm going out with. But, the point that I was trying to get at is that there is still an expectation that women will change their natural appearance more than men will in order to seem attractive.

What this whole thread brings out is that there's still an expectation that women will do more to please men in terms of their physical appearance than men will to please women.
