Something with Linguistics - organising credits at honours

Postby Benjamin on Sat Feb 27, 2010 3:26 am

I'm going into third year next year to Social Anthropology with Linguistics. Anthropology honours modules are always 30 credits, whereas for Linguistics, modules are all 15 credits with only one per semester. This will mean doing 45 credits for two semesters and 75 credits for two semesters.

Has anybody else been in this situation? How did it work out? Is it better to do both 75 credit semesters in third year or does it not make a difference? Would it be a good idea or a bad idea to do 75 credits including a dissertation?

I think I can recall being told it was better to stack the deck against myself earlier rather than later as I may need the additional time for writing the dissertation. Either way though it should work out fine for you as long as you are well organised enough.
