The turnover of jobs is fairly high here, and most of them are in the sectors you're looking into-particularly promising are the big hotels (the Fairmont does a ot of casual work but can be tiring) or getting a job in a hall as a server in a dining hall. The only thing that can be problematic is that you're less likely to get a job if you've not got previous experience in that field, and getting part-time hours can be a bit of a slog. As for RA jobs, that depends on your specialism. Do you mind if I ask what your MLitt is in? As an arts student it can be quite hard to get things like teaching assistant jobs as, obviously, there's less research going on; there might be positions in research collectives though! It might be possible for you to tutor classes too, if you're looking for that kind of work. (I'm only a third year undergrad, but having looked for a part time job and a reserach internship in History in the past academic year, you get to know at least a few of the ins and outs!). Hope this helps!
