Hello
I'm 22 yo french guy interested by baroque music and pipe organs.
I would be pleased to discover and exercise on organs at St Andrews.
Has anyone got contacts ?
Whom should I ask ?

Thank you for your help

The Music Centre should be able to help.

Speak to Tom Wilkinson (the university organist) in the first instance (his email will be on the website). The university owns 3 organs, a very large 4 manual Hadretzsky in St Salvators and a much smaller 2 manual one in St Leonards as well as another in the Younger hall. Type the national organ registry into google and look up the specs if your into that sort of thing or ask any questions if you want, I'm an organist myself.

Hello
Thank you for your answers !
I asked Tom Wilkinson 2 weeks ago but he looks busy.
Indeed I end my work at 6pm and I'm also free during week ends.
Unfortunately he is not available during those periods.
Has anyone an idea ? Another person ton contact ?
Who plays during celebrations ?

Tom plays at celebrations - is this for lessons? try the organist of all saints - he's pretty good or else the new senior organ scholar whoever that may be next term may be able to give you lessons (this years one was top class) depending on your level. Or try the city organist in Dundee perhaps? I would pop into the music centre, they will have more contacts than I do.

There is a baroque orchestra that the music centre runs as well.

Hi
Indeed I'm not looking for lessons ...
I'd just like to discover St Andrews organs and if possible play a little on them.
I practise organ for pleasure (self taught) as well as baroque music, flute and harpsichord.
Perhaps I could just come just before or after a celebration !

Thank you

Peter

We all play the organ for pleasure Pierre/Peter, old chap; presumably most of us are also self-taught.
