Diesel from St Andrews to the airport costs 16 pounds RETURN at the most, so petrol would be even cheaper. With you saying you're going in Thursday AND Friday, it sounds to me like you're running a taxi service. An illegal taxi service, BTW, if you don't have the correct insurance or hackney license for doing so.

Taking your friends in and asking for money for petrol is one thing. What you're doing is totally scheming and dishonest towards both students, who shouldn't be paying that much for an uninsured "taxi", and professional taxi drivers, who DO have to pay professional licenses, insurance, and fees.

Shame on you.
