I was actually planning on dressing up anyway! SOTD ends at about 10 so plenty time for parties etc after. If you're living in Gatty, check out the message board for details of the 'do.

FILMSOC Fright Fest!
Prepare to be scared! We're going all-out in Venue 1 to deliver a major dose of the heebie-jeebies, starting at 8:30pm with the brilliant comedy-horror, "Shaun of the Dead".

Then at 10:30, everyone can hear you scream. Ridley Scott's masterpiece is back in the all-new "Alien: Director's Cut".

Doors open at 8:00, and the bar will be open for refreshments. This is one event not to be missed for any film fan!

Free entry for FilmSoc members, £3 for non-members

I think I might go see Shaun of the Dead actually, I loved it when I saw it in the cinema, and it is in fact cheaper than normal cinema. And then just get drunk in the main bar afterwards.

For Ignite, I think it should be a Halloween theme. More people are likely to want to go out on a Friday night than a Sunday night. Do the usual thing of a quid cheaper if you're in costume, play a few cheesy Halloween songs and you're sorted!

Edit: Oh I just noticed Alien is on afterwards, I am so there!

This time, unlike Lord of The Rings - can the screen be in any kind of focus?

If you drink enough, maybe your eyes will be so out of focus that they and the screen will cancel each other out.

God help me, I actually sat here and thought "Hey, would that actually work?" for at least 2 seconds then.

As the one in charge of making sure everything is done with precision perfection, I can confirm this point was already in hand, we will be in as much focus as possible...oh, and also unlike LOTR, the surround will be actual proper surround :P

THX is only the beginning ;).

Thursday night: SWEET presents DJ Competition, 9:00- 11:30 and then cheesey retro 11:30-close. £2. You might wonder why I'm bringing it up on a Hallowe'en board. It's because I've already sold half of the tickets available for the Friday IGNITE disco!!! I expect it to sell out on Friday. So you might as well come dressed up on Thursday too because you might not get a wristband on Friday and get a really long life out of your costume.
Venue2 has Deviant Noise and I believe they're having a Hallowe'en theme too
Friday: IGNITE, like I said, half of the tickets have already been sold and I know they are planning on dressing up.
Venue2 Bulletproof
Saturday: RockSoc Hallowe'en, I do know they'll have pumpkins.
Sunday: FilmSoc Fright Fest: Your Union; watch scary films, it's better value than the cinema and YOU CAN USE THE BAR!!!

Err, and how is focusing any different in this, as opposed to any other kind of digital projector? Sure its not a Digital-Projection (aka digital IMAX) unit, but its not that bad.

You'd really rather use the saladbowl/mainbar CRT Analogue projectors? Seeing as that is the only alternative.
