Postby Micah the Clark on Tue Nov 23, 2004 12:52 pm

Didn't anybody else see the position availalbe for SRC member for absent students?

Does that mean you don't show up to any of the meetings and try to develop the most original excuse, afterward sharing it with all the wankers who couldn't get up for class?

hurray for absent students. and the strange fellow who will one day represent them.

a much more common example of absent students would be those who take a year abroad.

What about us graduates who haven't realised that we have left yet? Do we count as absent students?

Once upon a time co-options to the SRC were expressly forbidden. Any vacany HAD to be filled by open election. But, like much that made sense, that rule seems to have been abandoned.

I think people are gradually realising that democracy means that people who are incompetent get in. However, if incompetence is what the people want...

Hang on, I've just realised - co-options to the Student Representative Council? You're right, Al - that makes no sense.

As one who has taken Leave of Absence, does that make me an Absent Student?
