The new beta msn messenger 7 is out. I think it's rather good.

i didn't really like it, the winks and nudges are cool, but none of the messenger plus addins work! back to 6.2 for now, methinks...

Is it just the add-ins that don't work or MSN Plus altogether?

i couldn't get any of it to work, the auto-messages, the custom names, any add-ins. there is a messenger plus beta too, but i think i'll wait until at least one of them is no longer beta software

Trillian is way better. You get msn, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC and AOL all in one and it doesnt turn your computer into a sloth.

for me, messenger plus and the addins work. you need the beta version of plus (v3.4?) which you need to go onto the plus forums for.

Been using the official beta for a while now, its quite buggy in my experience, tho' some of the bugs may be from plus. if it werent for the custom animated smilies, i would move back. but my waving santa is just too good to let go

Yeah, use Trillian all, you will never go back. It doesnt have the completely gay "cute" interface, no adverts, and theres almost no feature of it you can't control.

i used to use trillian, but switched back to icq, and msn, and yahoo clients,

Me too. I used to have problems connecting to MSN through Trillian. The customisation was good but MSN Plus gives me quite emough.

Do use it for chat channels once in a blue moon still, though.

It's ace.. but I can see it would be frustrating if people were to nudge you all the time.
