Please admin for the general love of God and my sanity change the boards back so that the last message posted is at the bottom of the thread!

Umm, I fourth the motion(?) Seriously though, please change it back; or at least enlighten us on the amazingly compelling reason there was for changing in the first place. Perhaps being able to say to myself, “well, it has to be this way because...” will reduce my great irritation when I open up threads >1 page in length.

Or, give you the option as with a few boards where you can select from the main board which page in a thread you want to look at.

It may be the same as normal messageboards now, but I thought that the previous way of viewing threads was a great idea.

I'll pay a certain amount of upkeep a month for the privelege of being able to edit one other persons post every week.

huh? I feel a bit confused by this thread. To me, it seem that the most recent posts are at the bottom of the thread, as its always been. Am i missing something?

(and i personally also prefer this, its more like a natural conversation would be: starting at the start and all that)

The thread preview causes that much extra bandwidth? (Assuming that's what you meant.)

Yes.

Previously when reading a thread more than 1 page long, you could view the first few messages and then the last few messages on the same page - the abridged version of the thread.

Now you are automatically taken to the first page and have to click to be taken to the last page.

The obvious solution is one that's already used on phpbb 4.01 boards. For threads of more than 1 page, allow the page to be selected from the mainboard.

Wasnt the point of this thread to ask admin to stop the new sinner from randomly putting a reply from later on in a thread above the very first post?

Though the thread preview used to be good too....

It's one extra click!

If you're on here, the likelihood is that you're frittering away your time anyway. So I really can't see what the fuss is all about.
