Try a charity shop, dinner suits turn up surprisingly often and usually for not much more than a single hire would cost. With the added advantage of being able to wear it again. Failing which, if you think you might wear it, say, four times an inexpensive dinner jacket can be picked up in most high street department store type places for around that figure.
