[hr][s]Its nice to be able to blaspheme. It takes a very special and strong-minded kind of atheist to jump up and down with their hand clasped under their other armpit and shout 'Oh, random-flucuations-in-the-space-time-continuum!' or 'Aaargh, primitive-and-out-moded-concept on a crutch!' - Terry Pratchet, Men at arms[/s]

Ummm, well its called Email. Its fantastic. Someone can write a Email and it will arrive at our computers! Its great.

And I have seen one. They are quite funny. There was a accountant at a law firm in America who got one and was so keen to help she emptied the law fims bank accounts. She ended up in Jail, Fraud. On the wall in Comp Sci, one of the lecturers has pinned one up and declared his intention to be promised $100,000,000 in one year. Hes not doing to badly.

More worryingly is the fact that the VP thought that any student would be stupid enough to think that they are anything other than a blatent scam to be binned.

You'd be suprised how desperate some people get for money. If there's even the vaguest chance that it would work someone somewhere will be desperate enough to risk it.

re those nigerian scams there a great website detailing correspondance between the scam artist and someone who replied to wind them up ... very funny stuff ... they act extremely weird but always promise to transfer money soon so the scammer's greed can't help but make them reply no matter how bizarre the mails are ... sadly I've forgotten the link, so this may well be a pointless post ... but if anyone knows what I'm talking about post it, cause it's great.

Um, maybe you're forgetting the time that everyone living in uni accomodation was sent an email telling them not to stick their fingers in the electrical sockets...

In addition to these emails, we at LGBTsoc have been getting letters from some escort agency asking if we are interested in pimping out our members.

I don't know, it could work, maybe, if we just pimped out the first years...

(P.S. If anyone is interested in this offer, I can put you in touch. I would of course have to charge 10% of your earnings for this service, all of which would be donated to the LGBT of course...)
