What about the raccoons!!!! I can't vote on the poll, it needs the raccoons!
They were the best! The three pigs, the newspaper, random animals from the big city! It was the best!

You have missed sooo many decent cartoons off there, and i haven't even heard of some of them.

What about

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Hey Arnold
Scooby Doo
Yogi Bear

The Racoons used to freak me out as a kid. I used to think it was too strange. Cyrill Sneer and those pigs. The creators must have been smoking too much weed when they came up with that concept!

Still best cartoon of the 80's has to be Transformers. No doubt. Better than that bloody awful Dangermouse anyday! Also does anyone remember a really cool show called Knightmare?

Knightmare was so cool! Well, at least before they started making it less dark to be less frightening. Considering the timer went from being a face where the skin and stuff peeled off, to a walking person where the armour fell off to a cake where slices disappered, just goes to show.

No! bad! talk about the raccons.
or the gummy bears *bouncing here and there and everywhere*

does anyone know the name of a cartoon where there were three fat people that lived on a dirty polluting boat, it was two guys and a woman, and they were always trying to dirty up a bunch of wee people, they were a bit smurf-esque. I think it was called the smogs or something like that.

Does anyone know what kind of creature Cyril Sneer was? I was debating this with someone the other day.

The best ever cartoon was 80 days around the world & I will fight to the death anyone who says otherwise.

I vaguely remember the polluting boat, but I've no idea who the people were.

As for Cyril Sneer- was he an ant eater or something like that?

I don't think Cyril Sneer was meant to be any kind of animal seeing as with the others it was more obvious what they were - pigs, raccoons etc.

Around the World in 80 Days was one of my favourites, along with Dogtanian.

Yes! Knightmare used to seriously freak me out... the peeling skin... *shudder* Also when they used to step into long tunnels with big slicing blades coming towards them, and the kids giving the instructions would panic. heheh.

To that childhood traumatisation do I attribute my inability to play Tomb Raider past the part where Lara has to jump through a doorway booby-trapped with slicing jaws. eek.

Dogtanian had the most irritating theme tune, bar none. "One for all and all for one", as sung by the chipmunks with added helium. Frightening.

Oh, and I'll fight anyone who dares say a bad word against Dangermouse. Altogether now:

He's the greatest
He's fantastic
Whenever there is danger he'll be theeeeere...

I think the cartoon that had the polluting boat and an island populated with what appeared to be oompa loompas was the smoggies.

For the people who mentioned Knightmare -

Yes, I'm a fanatic.

And I chose He-Man, by the way, though I watched it again recently and I'd forgotten how rubbish it was.
