A little early on a Friday morning for such a dangerous move, but with the continued wild Zone 3 and the increasingly desperate moves we're seeing, I think its time to bring the game back onto a traditional level: Aldwych

Well that scuppers me, the obvious move would be Covent Garden, but there's no way I'm doing that now, much though I'm sure you'd love me to open it up for you per 'Jesensky's Folly' of '54.

So, with all this cagey, defensive play going on - Mansion House.

Sorry about being missing for so long, been rather busy this week. However, I think I'll stick with the traditional level that Lid and Timata seem to enjoy and thus use a double inversion and play Knightsbridge. A cookie for whoever makes the right move from here.

at the risk of this cookie, I'm going for Waterloo on Hamersmith and City, citing Korbachov v Bloom in '69

A classic move, and a bit of a poser. This one had me thinking a while, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to go for this: a triple-bypass, avoiding Paddington, playing Zone 3 wild then means Westminster is full of spoons. As a result, with the current delay on the Northern Line, that means that I can use the District Line to play the four-line swap to Edgware Road on the Bakerloo line.

...then again, that is only my opinion.

Marylebone. I think that speaks for itself.

With showers forecast in zone 1, and engineering in the south, the precarious nature of the game forces me into a cautious but considered move to Chorleywood.

I've been waiting for the past two games to play this one, but now's my chance (thank heavens for the North Easterly winds!)

Thats better. Throws the game wide open and is somberly appropriate for the day. A Cross-Thames Northern Line Jump (citing Hardy vs. Fry, 2000 as an example of the more experienced use of this move) combined with a straight zone shift, should land us at Clapham North

Well, well, well. Hmm. Tricky, but as it's Saturday, I think it really has to be Golders Green.

Ooh... so close, yet so far! By using an onboard turnaround at High Barnet (under the Lord Atholl amendment), a train up the Northern Line would get you there in a single move! Shame the Queen is wearing purple today, it means the move must end one stop early at Camden Town.

From Goodge Street, bearing in mind the left hand at quarter past rule, that leaves me with two choices.

I could opt for the move reminiscent of the Herriot vs Watt match earlier this year (but seeing as Watt came crashing out of that match, with his tail very much between his legs, I'll probably avoid it), and go for Bank, or the much riskier Southwark (favoured by the followers of the 1970s champion, Ruth Bekinsall).

Ah, what the hell - I've always admired Ruth; let's see where this takes us...

On the edge indeed, but wise to avoid the pitfalls of Watt's, shall we say, 'eccentric' play?

It's difficult to know what to do here, but I think I shall risk the old Gilbert Jump and play the restricted service - Grange Hill.

Time for the Hammersmith and City shunting diversion to come into play and thus go to Farringdon.

And anyone who decides to tell me that this in violation of the Duke of Kent's rules, I point them to the Whitehall Ruling of 1976 to see how the shunt has become an obscure but perfectly playable move.

May I remind you of the amendment to the Whitehall Ruling (as per Glastinbourne-Partley vs. Farquharson 1989), which may the shunt only possible during weekdays? I shall be making use of the penalty move on the National Rail, to arrive at Highbury & Islington.

I'm not certain you've cited that rule correctly Gubbins. I'll have to consult the 1990 retrospective guideline tomes.

A gentle lob for you all, open up all the quarters and to blazes with spoon: Notting Hill Gate.

Indeed, my suspicions were ill-founded. Apologies.

Notting Hill Gate does allow for some open play, I can see Mornington Crescent in 4.
