but actually visiting the website of the university:

would be enough to show any normal person that its a bogus educational institution. The first two paragraphs both contain grammatical errors and there is no such word in the English (UK at least) language as transnational. The menu on the left looks like it was made by a first time designer and a quick google shows that the Baron isn't real.

Way to go investigative journalism. :S

At least the Rochville University make their website look the part.

Anyway, back to the interesting part of the discussion, what you have to remember is that this 'university' wasn't targeting people in English-speaking countries, so it's unlikely that their audience would have noticed anything. Also, if you'd watched the full report on the news, you'd have seen that it was scrupulously researched; the only way they got that confession out of the man with the paid-for peerage (paid for to someone other than the Labour Party, I mean) was by firstly having an undercover journalist posing as a potential business partner get him to admit the dodginess of the proposition on tape.

It seems fairly clear to me that these people are perpetrating a fraud, and instead of the government making noises about shutting the 'university' down, they should be arresting the blighters who run it.
