In Janettas a few years ago, and there one person in the queue in front of me, who would be best described as a rather large and round man. His shirt/trousers were covered in stains and he didn't smell the best...I guess you all know the sort of person I'm on about. As he went to pay, his trousers fell down around his ankles. The woman behind the counter just looked at me with the most horrified expression. The guy just said sorry and shuffled out the door! Actually it wasn't as funny as it was disturbing!

The bloke up on top of the church on south street in his pants was pretty chuckle-worthy.

You wouldn't steal a handbag. You wouldn't steal a car. You wouldn't steal a containership full of tanks. Piracy is a crime, do not accept it.

Back in summer '06 apparently a crowd of people thought they saw the St. Andrews Statue (by the old town hall) wave his (or its) arms up and down.

The funniest moment that I personally witnessed was when Simon Pepper cut off Brian Lang during Pepper's installation as rector (or was it Ming's installation as chancellor?). Lang was very embarrassed/annoyed at being told to shut up and his face went so red that it looked like his head was about to explode.

The collective whole of the "Overheard in St Andrews" group is pretty great.
