R Kelly still number 1?

the british public are fucking strange. they go up in arms about Brasseye yet make sure that a guy who's blatantly a fucking paedo (by US law anyway) goes straight in at number 1 & damn well stays there for a while.

Guess it just goes to show that there's no such thing as bad publicity...unless you're Gary Glitter of course.

PS What's up with the chatroom?

Nothing's wrong with the chatroom as far as I can see. A lot less than is wrong with the world as evidenced by Blessed.

When does R Kelly know it's time to go to bed?

When the big hand touches the little hand.

Plus how did he get to number one an DMX didn't come on Uk public.

Wow

I haven't seen a singles chart in months and months.

i didn't even know that R.Kelly was out and about, never mind releasing records.

still, i got a nice surprise when i saw shed seven in at number 23. YAY! i didn't know that they were back together and doing stuff.

still. i know what i like, and i don't need the chart to tell me what's good.

You appear to inhabit a different universe to me on that one.

if we all liked the same music then the world would be a very dull place indeed. and Shed Seven wouldn't sell many records.

i like their best of album. it's the only thing i've heard by them, but it's quite good

and i defy ANYBODY to not feel like dancing when "disco down" comes on. top tune. i think i'm going to put it on now.

I was surprised to see Dead or Alive at no. 40. That guy looks even more scary than the last pictures I saw.

when i went round for a York Uni open day they were advertising the place by saying that Shed Seven had played at the uni a while ago. that was almost 3 years ago when folk were more likely to have heard of them.

Pete Burn's Buzzcocks appearance was a pretty unforgettable one. quite why they're rereleasing that old single though. i think they must have a new LP coming out & using it for promotional purposes.

The song is a total corker though. Much better than DMX.

I haven't heard it. And who are DMX?

Ah, the sweet bliss of being cut off from modern pop.

'Disco Down' was written about a nightclub in York called 'Ziggies' (NOT to be confused with the nice restaurant in StA). I've had the pleasure of frequenting it and dancing underneath its mirrored archway (not retro chic, antique) and being dripped on by the recondensed sweat from the curious mixture of moshers and rugby players that seem to inhabit the club on Wednesday nights.

I'm firmly with Shed 7 on this one - we should definately 'Burn that disco down'.

A VERY nice restaurant, which you should all frequent, and leave enormous tips...
