I know it's a long shot asking people here about St Andrews, since I think there's about two active members who are actually in the town.

The Raisin has changed name and owner. What is it called now and who owns it?

I was in st andrews yesterday. I didn't notice a name change?

Evidently I have been misled. It is no longer listed on Scream's website though.

No, apparently it's called The Blue Stane. After the stone in the pub garden.

I think it lost the Scream brand well over a year ago, although I cannot remember who owned it then. It was definitely still The Raisin last time I was there, which was the Monster Pub Crawl.

CJ says it is a Belhaven pub now, and indeed it says so on their website.

In any case, they are gutting the thing. While I hope it's an improvement over the old dive I remember (was last there Fall 2009), I would prefer it not turn into a £4.50 pint joint.

It's called The Blue Stane and they've done it up quite a bit. Fresh paint etc. Was in there on Saturday night. New menus as well. Not that impressed though as the ladies toilets ran out of toilet paper and then later on they shut the ladies off as all the toilets were blocked and wouldn't flush.

They removed the jukebox and the pool tables, and as far as I know the game machines. They must be trying to change their customer base, but everybody I've spoken to has been disappointed with the change

I find it a little strange that they have felt the need to diversify to attract a different kind of customer. With plenty of places in town I thought they would have been happy at being different enough before to attract people through the door. Hopefully it's better than it sounds.

I walked past it last week. Didn't even notice! Someone told me they've got rid of the tassels, so I can go in next time I'm up without feeling like I'm in a particularly crap bordello.

Maybe they can rename it The Brown Stane. (groan)

Not sure they should have changed its Firkin name at all!

It's surely only a matter of time till they change the name back to Kate's.
