"used to read the chalet school series"
erm...I collect them...(anyone got any they no longer want????)

The Swish of the Curtain (Pamela Brown)
Narnia series
Little Women series
Anne of Green Gables series
Redwall series
Harry Potter series
Little House series
Drina series
E Nesbitt, Tamora Pierce, Noel Streatfield, Enid Blyton
Any 30s-esque "girls books"

I think I can sum by up by saying: I like kids books...especially old ones :) In fact, only Redwall, Harry Potter & Tamora Pierce are written by/are people that are still alive...

Bambert's Book of Missing Stories (Reinhardt Jung) and The Midnight Club (Christopher Pike) are the last two books I cried at...

i have shedloads of chalet school books sat in boxes at home, waiting for an ebay moment. unfortunately, home's about 600 miles away, so i won't be getting them any time soon. but when i get round to bringing them up here, i'll let you know!

Yeah, pride and prejudice was good. I love Jane Austen books, but since the only other one I've read is Sense and Sensibility, I really should read more.
Well, I really don't have a favorite book, but I'm into fantasy. Mercedes Lackey's books are really good. Right now I'm reading The Oathbound by her. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and series by Douglas Adams are hilariously great books. Like, they make you laugh out loud at the randomest things ever. Hmm, I've read a lot of other good books, but can never really remember any. The next book I can't wait to read is Terry Goodkind's latest book in the Sword of Truth series (can't remember the name). I saw it at Barnes and Noble and was ecstatic.

An Unequal Music by Vikram Seth. The only book that has made me cry (with the exception of the Little Princess when I was 8!)

Well, I have a list!

Pat Barker's Regeneration trilogy

Pride and Prejudice

the Beatrix Potter books (childhood favourites!)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - the other four cannot match this one. Undoubtedly the best.

Captain Correllis Mandolin

Moab is my Washpot - Stephen Fry's biography

Goodnight Mr Tom - classic!

Anything by Catherine Alliot

There are hundreds more I'm sure I've missed out - I've always been a big reader but these are a few favourites!

My fave book would have to be The Women of the Renaissance: A Study of Feminism by R. de Maulde la Claviere translated by George Herbert Ely. Unfortunately it hasnt been printed since 1905 and copies are hard to find :-( Luckily I recieved one for my Birthday last year.

Wow.. Everyone has such Mind Broadening choices, I feel rather silly admitting to mine.

Well, here goes-

My all time, absolute fav is...

Green Eggs and Ham

For some reason, when I get into the bigger more important, I suppose I could call them, books, they just don't have the same pull on my mind.

Perhaps I am childish. Ok, so not perhaps, but it's still a good book.
