Newcastle - Jason should know where he is going. The train leaves Leucahrs at 7.46 or something. Be there by 7.30 please guys. Maybe meet at the bus staion at 7?

Durham - a little trickier. train at 9.20 gets you in at 12. You can make it to the end of reg as it takes less than 30 minutes to get the the union. we'll register you and all that. Sally, you're in charge of that lot. make it to the bus station by 8.30 for that one.

And everyone book tickets in advance. its cheaper

Do we know when registration is for Newcastle?

That might influence decisions concerning the right train to catch.

Also, is Jason's train the 7:23 or the 7:46? The latter, I believe is more expensive.

reg is 11-12. the train i suggested gets you in at 10.36. its the one they suggest, so i guess any aberdeen teams will be on it too.
There is one 30 minutes later, but with all the engineering, maybe safer to get the early one.

The one that gets in at 10.36 is four or five pounds more expensive than the one that gets in at 10.30. Would it be worth getting that one that leaves at 7.23 and saving a few pounds?

My tickets were already booked for the 8:12, due to arrive 10:59. That may be pushing it...

I'm fairly certain that Tony and Jason are on the 7:23, which seems to be the most logical bet.

I'm on the 9:50, as are Jason and Tony, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm trying to find this 9:20 train to Durham on the Saturday. No matter what site/company I try, it keeps telling me a train at 9:45am with 3 changes to get into Durham at 4:30pm. Is anyone else getting this?

I've just looked on National Rail and it seems like that train no longer exists! Don't you just love the engineering works. Great. There is now one with 3 changes that leaves at 6.28 and gets there at 12.20. Is that cutting it a bit fine? Its 2 trains and 2 buses...

Would there be any chance of crash on Friday night Connie???

If you go to University Travel Services on the 1st floor of the Union you can get bookings for the 7.23 train from Leuchars, changing at Edinburgh and Newcastle and getting us in at 12.08, which is just enough time to get there if we walk very quickely. cost £26 return.

Okay, I'm getting strange results for booking my ticket - journey times of 5hrs and 3 changes covering, Scotrail, Virgin, GNER and Transpennie. I've checked through Nationalrail.com ScotRail and GNER - oh and there is no 9:20 train. Is this the infamous East Coast track work, or a figment of my imagination

Correct. Such is the joy of British public transport!

Cheers,

P.S. To Andrew: I believe you are down to judge Durham, as well. I'd speak to Connie ASAP, but I can't see why it would be a problem for you to judge there as well.
