Only one day to go....

Postby Dickie on Thu Dec 13, 2007 6:06 pm

With only 25hrs till port prior to the Alumni Debate. I just wonder how many other sinner users are going to make the effort to make it. There was a demand for it here and the demand was met.

Make an effort? The BoT don't seem to have made much effort to get information about the Alumnus Debate out to people. I was quite keen to attend, but it's difficult to plan anything when you don't know what's happening.

The date of the debate is on the first post of this thread, which was put up back in May. We have used Facebook and email to contact as many Alumni as possible. Failing all of that my email address is on the first post so that people could always get in contact with me if anything was unclear. I am sorry if information has not gotten to everyone, but we did try.

Well, it hardly matters anyway. I'm sure it'll be a great evening.

I was timing from Eliot's post, not Cain's.

Thanks to all the alumni for their attendance and contributions. The speeches were hilarious and universally enjoyed.

Special thanks to Irene for her donation of the schools trophy for St Andrews schools.

Cheers,

I had a great time and hope all others did too.

What date is next years alumnus debate?

I need to start saving if my wine bill is going to be anything like last nights!

I believe that next years date will be up to my successor who I will be more than happy to pass the job on to.

Thank you to all the Alumni who turned up. I thought it was a great event, and I hope that next year it will happen again.

Tom

It's a shame I couldn't make it - I'll hope to make it next year.

Hello, in regards to the earlier comment about minutes , I intend to get the minutes from last Fridays debate up as soon as I can however due to exams and my boss at work being somewhat unreasonable with hours during the festive period they may not be up until the end of January. I plan to put them on the website but due to my utter lack of IT skills I'm not sure how to go about this - any suggestions?

1)Save them as a Word document
2)Get someone with a Mac (such as I) to click the PDF button on our amazingly funky machines
3)Get someone with write access to the yourunionUDS website (such as I) to upload and link them
4)Bask in the glory of being the first clerk to actually do something outside LPH in so very long.
5)Click fingers and be amazed at angels upon high (or us sticklers) bringing you gin and tonics to allow praise to be upon us.
