Courier Semi Finals

Postby Laura on Fri Jan 23, 2009 11:54 am

Thanks to everyone who helped with round 2- it's a relief that it's over, given all the illness problems we had, but we had some great debates despite this and I am, as always, amazed at how much time you're all willing to put in to help out. So many of you turned up at short notice to swing speak when teams were absent and I'm very grateful.

The semi finals will be happening on the 3rd and 5th of February, and for those of you who have helped a lot and have followed the competition this year, these are the details:

Semi-Final One: Tuesday 3rd February, 7pm
Madras College, St Andrews

This House Would Force Companies to Manufacture Goods Ethically

Webster’s High School ‘A’ Madras College ‘A’
(Lucy and Alastair) (Leo and Gier)

Craigclowan School ‘A’ Glenalmond College ‘B’
(Jessica and Isobel) (Cameron and Marcus)

High School of Dundee ‘C’ Dollar Academy ‘C’
(Megan and Adam) (Lauren and Jennifer)

Semi-Final Two: Thursday 5th February, 7pm
ALSO NOW MADRAS COLLEGE, ST ANDREWS

This House Would End Public Funding of the BBC

Dollar Academy ‘B’ High School of Dundee ‘B’
(Callum and Ruth) (Lewis and Cameron)

Morrisons Academy ‘B’ High School of Dundee ‘A’
(Katie and Sally) (Hannah and April)

Dollar Academy ‘A’ Madras College ‘B’
(Alix and Anna) (Rory and Johnny)

As James Beadle is competing at TCD and they are happening so quickly please drop me an e-mail (lawilson@dcthomson.co.uk) if you want a spot. I'm particularly looking for the experienced judges at this stage!

Ta!
